SrProjectsCurious to see what Orcas Seniors have been working on all year? The Orcas Island High School and OASIS graduating classes of 2014 will be presenting their senior projects in an event open to the public on Tuesday, June 10.

Those interested can come to the High School Commons by 10:30 a.m., see what projects are being presented, and pick three to view. There will be three rounds, and multiple presentations happening at once, so make sure to pick the project you really want to see.

“These presentations give the seniors the opportunity to show their school and community what they wrote about in their final research paper as well as what they did for the final project,” said teacher Val Hellar who, along with Kathy Collister, has been managing the senior projects at OHS for the last decade.

Heller and Collister are also looking for a panel of to view the projects. Members of a panel will be asked to watch a student’s presentation, review a senior portfolio, read a student’s paper, and offer commentary.

If you are interested in being a part of the senior panel or would like to know more, contact Val Hellar or Kathy Collister via email.
