If you’ve always wanted to learn how to play the ukulele this class is for you! We will explore the basics of chord formation, strumming and fingerpicking. Starting with simple well known folk songs and moving into whatever songs you love to sing. We will get moving quickly on this fun and social instrument. We will work as a group, developing ensemble skills, as well as and individually, allowing students to progress at their own pace.
The classes are taught by Orcas Islander Carolyn Cruso; multi-instrumentalist, performer, songwriter and music instructor. She has been teaching for 15 years, both privately and in workshop settings. She is currently a teacher at the Dusty Strings School of Music in Seattle and teaches privately on Orcas Island and is an approved Community Based Instructor for OASIS. She has taught ukulele at Four Winds Camp for the last four years. www.carolyncruso.com
