||| FROM LENA KASSA for ORCAS SENIOR CENTER |||
The Orcas Senior Center wants to express their gratitude to the Orcas Island High School senior class for being included in their philanthropic donations for 2021. Each year, a local donor provides the graduating class with funds that they distribute in support of local programs that have made a difference in their lives.
Older Orcas “seniors” will benefit from the generous donation of $1000 that the OHS graduating class has designated to support the Senior Center’s nutrition and companion services programs. With this gift, our graduating seniors have demonstrated both knowledge of and compassion for the particular difficulties faced by our older residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is with great pride that we share this island and this community with these caring young people. Thank you Thian, Ella, Landon, Sofia, Ana Sofia, Grace, Douglas, Christian, Tomas, Izabella, Darian, Alanna, Flora, Hazel, Emma, Bethany, Ryan, Lindsey, Madison, Molly, Leonai, Portia, Miette, Anwyn, and Ayjah!

Thank you Orcas Seniors, for caring for Orcas Seniors! Congratulations on your Graduation!
Well said, Lena, about this amazing graduating class. This warms my heart to read. Thank you, Orcas Island HS seniors for understanding the connections between us all. We need each other and we “elders” so appreciate your act of altruism and generosity. We are so proud of you for your achievements and the people you are; many thanks, and congratulations!
