Search operations are underway today with mutual aid from San Juan Island Fire, Lopez Island Fire, and Whatcom County Search and Rescue.
Orcas Island Fire & Rescue is assisting the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office in searching for a missing 87-year-old man named Kent Sawyer last seen around 6:00 PM in the Mt. Woolard area. He may be wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt, and a blue jacket.

An air-scent search dog from Summit to Sound is working the Mt. Woolard area. The dog and handler are well marked.
A second search dog from Skagit County will be arriving this morning.
