||| FROM ERIC WEBB for ORCAS ISLAND SCHOOL DISTRICT |||
Dear Students, Families, Staff, & Community,
I’m sure you would agree that the sun was a welcome sight for all [yesterday}! Please know our hearts go out to those struggling with the aftermath of [our] heavy rains.
We here at OISD have identified two areas of water damage; water damage in a high school locker room and flooding of the OISD Library. It appears that the water traveled down a seam between a sidewalk and a west wall of the library into the library. Fortunately, books and student art work were not damaged. We have a lot to be thankful for and will work to restore these spaces for student, staff, and community use. Please find a video of the water damage to the OISD Library below.
“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.” ― Haruki Murakami
