Dear Students, Families, Staff, & Community,

I’m sure you would agree that the sun was a welcome sight for all [yesterday}! Please know our hearts go out to those struggling with the aftermath of [our] heavy rains.

We here at OISD have identified two areas of water damage; water damage in a high school locker room and flooding of the OISD Library. It appears that the water traveled down a seam between a sidewalk and a west wall of the library into the library. Fortunately, books and student art work were not damaged. We have a lot to be thankful for and will work to restore these spaces for student, staff, and community use. Please find a video of the water damage to the OISD Library below.

OISD students will be on Thanksgiving Break November 24–26. My wish for each of you is to have the opportunity to safely spend time with loved ones, share a wonderful meal, watch a great movie, play a board game, and reflect on our many shared blessings!
