Monday, January 2, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Emmanuel Parish Hall

— from Mark Mayer, Orcas Action Pod —

You are invited to be part of Salish Sea Stands. We are a group dedicated to protecting the Salish Sea through community involvement in cooperation with the Friends of the San Juans.

As you may have read in the news recently [orcasissues.com], the Trans Mountain Pipeline, owned by Kinder Morgan, received approval from the Canadian government to proceed. The project will affect the Salish Sea by radically increasing the number of tankers transporting crude oil in our waters. We are organizing now in an effort to raise awareness and stop this project.

We are going to have our initial meeting to brainstorm/strategize about an upcoming action planned for January 16, Martin Luther King Day.

The meeting will be this coming Monday, January 2 from 6:30 to 8:30 at Emmanuel Parish Hall, 242 Main Street in Eastsound.

If you have friends that also might be interested, please invite them to join us. We look forward to seeing you there.
