The EWUA Board meets tomorrow, August 18 at 5:00 PM at the Eastsound Firehall. With no July Board meeting and several recent updates from EWUA, here are some questions I hope we can get answers to:

Clark Well

  • What is the current total project cost?
  • What is the projected final cost?
  • When is the project expected to be complete?

Independent Investigation

  • Now that the CBA is complete, will the Board reconsider the members’ request for an independent third-party investigation?

Organizational Health & Staffing

  • EWUA recently announced that an organizational-health expert has been brought in to help navigate growth and change. Who is providing this service, and what will it cost?
  • Are the Board members and General Manager participating in the process?
  • Will members receive a report directly from the organizational-health professional about their findings and the health of the organization?

Finances

  • Will members receive greater clarity about 2025 legal expenses and other financial details before the 2025 Form 990 is released?
  • When is the 2025 Form 990 expected to be available?

Board Elections

  • What is the timeline for the 2026 election?
  • How many Board positions will be up for election, and whose terms are expiring?
  • Do those Board members intend to run for reelection?

There has been positive news coming from EWUA lately, and progress deserves recognition. At the same time, these remain reasonable questions for members to ask.

I encourage members to attend tomorrow’s meeting, listen, ask questions, and stay involved.
