CWR Encounter #59 | Bigg’s Killer Whales

EncSummary: After the T100s passed the house heading north, we headed for Snug Harbor to get out on an encounter. We could see fins off Henry Island as soon as we left Snug Harbor, starting the encounter at 14:30 and launching the drone. The T100s dipped into Open Bay before rounding the west side of Henry Island heading north. The trio continued following the shoreline of Henry before pushing offshore around Battleship Island, then eastward into Spieden Channel. After a few surfacing sequences, the whales had made it nearly halfway through Spieden before turning in a northwesterly direction and popping up near Sentinel Rock on their next surfacing. With multiple drone flights completed by this point, we decided to end the encounter at 15:59 at Sentinel Rock.
