Orcas Island Park and Rec (OIPRD) will host a Webinar presentation by ActivNet, an online registration and payment software package for local recreational, educational, and cultural activities.
OIPRD is considering purchasing the package for use by OIPRD, community groups, and volunteer coaches who have a need to register multiple participants, book facilities for use, collect fees, and submit insurance forms—all online.
This presentation is interactive and designed to be customized and individualized to the needs that are frequently experienced in communities like ours.
Participation is free and all who volunteer or coordinate group activities would enjoy learning about this potential community resource.

I hope the OIPRD will give the local qualified businesses an opportunity to make proposals and bids on equivalent or better functionality provided by local developers. It would be better to shop local where possible. Not only keeping money and expertise on the Island, but allowing for a more flexible response to customization for local needs.

Martin,
If you know of a local company or person that produces an online registration package for events and facilities that you suspect might be somewhat competitive with the ones we’re reviewing, please let me know and I will put them in the mix.
