Orcas Island Rowing Association is excited to announce the FABULOUS Polar Bear Plunge on Cascade Lake – Saturday, March 30, 2024.
All are welcome. Great fun. Rain or shine. No experience necessary. Grounds open 10am. Plunge at 11am sharp!
New location – OIRA’s boathouse beach, south end of Cascade Lake. Parking – Please use the south end parking lot; overflow at the Environmental Learning Center. Boathouse open 10am – 12:30pm
Enjoy hot drinks and rowing demonstrations along with Orcas Island Rowing T-shirts for sale.

Is there a “Theme” to this years plunge?
Thanks, Bob. The theme this year and every year is “Please support Orcas Island Rowing!” While this event is free and fun and open to all, we welcome donations to help us restart the varsity rowing program for the Orcas schools, which has been on hold since the pandemic. And, if you like the idea of zooming across the water in skinny boats, come row with us.
