Speed limit will return to 35 mph, but wait until signs are posted before you go speeding off
— from Shannon Wilbur for San Juan County Public Works —
This week, topsoil was placed along the roadway and guardrails were installed along the Swan Road detention ponds and the curve north of McNallie Road. Razz Construction will return to Orcas Island when it is time to hydroseed.
Next week, the speed limit will be returned to the original posted speed limit of 35 mph. Drivers, please wait until the new signs are installed before speeding up! The road will be striped the week of August 19.
Thank you to the Orcas community for your patience during this road construction project. We hope that you enjoy driving the improved roadway.

Thats it? No more guard rails or lines on the road. What a lot of trees cut down for what. It certainly doesn’t look finished.
Without addressing the project itself, I do appreciate the frequent reports about its status.
