Saturday, April 28, 7:30 p.m., Orcas Center

— from Didier Gincig —

Orcas Center presents “Orcas Rising” a wonderful evening of talented island musicians performing on Center Stage Saturday, April 28 at 7:30. The event promises to be an easy-going, fun local sharing of music, replicating an island living room on stage with audience participation encouraged.

This evening is all about letting community members know the Orcas Center stage is accessible for community members to celebrate music with their community. Some of the performers were on stage when the Orcas Center first opened in 1986. In fact, Dave Roseberry will sing “Grandma’s Feather Bed” which he sang at the opening of the Center.

We’ve got a fun line-up and the makings for a great community show. We’ll have couches, comfortable chairs, cookies and tea on stage to create a feeling like you’re at home enjoying a music party such as we have throughout the island. Don’t miss your chance to see: Carl Burger with Marj Franke and Tish Knapp, Corey Wiscomb, Katie Wlaysewski, Dave Roseberry, Michael Hurwicz and Sharon Abreu, Danny Herasymchuck, Odd Fellows, bands Crab Bait and Cut Bait, Island all-star performers, surprise guests, and more.

Tickets are available through the Orcas Center at www.orcascenter.org, by calling 376.ACT1 (2281), or at the door ($15, $12 for students; $5 tickets available).
