Orcas Island Park and Recreation District is looking for a citizen volunteer to serve the remaining term of Orcas Island Park and Recreation District Commissioner #4. The remaining term of this position runs until December 31, 2015. The position will appear on the San Juan County 2015 general election ballot for a full term of four (4) years beginning January 2016.
Park and Recreation Commissioners direct the management of the District and are active in all decisions affecting the District’s operations including sports activities, park management, and long range planning. The Commissioners meet monthly in open public meetings and serve on subcommittees to address specific areas of operations ranging from budget to community communications and events.
