As the Orcas Island Food Bank continues to work to serve our clients and the community in the best way possible, the Food Bank Board has engaged Michele Bart of Purposeful Consulting Group, LLC as interim executive director while our Executive Director Amanda Sparks takes time away from her day-to-day responsibilities to focus on her family, and we appreciate everyone’s support.
Michele Bart
Bart brings 25-plus years of food bank management and administration background to help support the operational side of the Orcas Island Food Bank. Bart and her company recently performed an organizational assessment for the Food Bank as we prepare to construct a new building on the Pea Patch campus and enter a new phase of service to the community. She brings that knowledge of our current structure and operations to the job.
The team leading the Pea Patch capital campaign and construction project remains in place, and that work will continue as planned. Bart’s interim role will focus primarily on supporting the Food Bank’s day-to-day operations, staff, and organizational needs during this transition.
In addition to her interim ED work, she will be supporting board and staff development over the next several months. She will be in person on Orcas several days a week; we welcome her experience and expertise.
