Enjoy music, art, and games in a beautiful outdoor setting at Orcas Center’s 2022 “In the Garden” Gala and Auction. You’ll have the opportunity to support the work of the center and its commitment to bringing the arts to the island. The gala, which is the organization’s biggest annual fundraising event, will be held on the Orcas Center lawn (917 Mt. Baker Rd.) on Sunday, June 12 starting at 4 p.m.

This year’s theme is reminiscent of the Garden Parties of the 1920s and 30s. There will be outdoor games of croquet, lawn ladders, cornhole, and of course, prizes for creative hats! Festive music by Oliver Groenwald and Steve Alboucq Jazz Quintet set the scene as you enjoy signature cocktails and a locally sourced menu, artfully designed by Chef Amanda Zimlich of Otter’s Pond B&B. (Make sure you save room for the lively dessert dash – complete with delectable cakes and pies!)

Get those auction paddles ready for the live auction, featuring exciting travel and dining packages and more! There’s also a silent online auction starting June – Go to OrcasCenter.org/gala to view themed packages filled with delights from many local businesses, restaurants, and artisans, including: Matia’s, Darvill’s, Orcas Island Winery, Island Thyme, Hogstone’s, Buck Bay Shellfish Farm, Brown Bear Bakery, Wild Island, and so much more! Art available for auction includes a variety of pottery, animation cels, paintings, and photography from local artists.

“The Board of Trustees and staff have been working hard to create this fantastic, outdoor event,” said Corinne Davis, the 2022 Gala Chair. “We invite the community to join us in the garden to raise money and ensure a bright future for Orcas Center for years to come. For those who can’t attend in-person, we’re so excited to offer the silent auction online, so that more people can participate in supporting the arts!”

Tickets are $200. To purchase, visit www.OrcasCenter.org/gala or call the box office 360-376-2281 ext 1.
