The Orcas Island Cancer Support Group is excited to participate in the Relay For Life to be held in Friday Harbor on Saturday, September 27 from 3 to 11 p.m.

This event celebrates life in more than one way.  It is not necessary to enter the relay walk.  If you prefer, you may simply enjoy the food, music, friendship and cheer for those who do participate in the relay.

Reception begins prior to the Relay.  For those who wish to take the ferry as a walk-on, the event organizers have offered to provide free transportation from the ferry dock to the fairground and back. If you would like to join our group as either a participant or observer, or for more information, call Holly Richardson at 376-1092. We would love to have you along.  It will be a fun day.

The Relay is a fundraiser sponsored by the Seattle Branch of the American Cancer Society. This nationwide community-based voluntary health-organization is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Their goal is to prevent cancer, save lives, and eliminate suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.  The Relay For Life is an annual event across the country.  This year our local event will be held at the San Juan County Fairgrounds.  They encourage groups to organize teams to enter the Relay. More information about the relay can be found at www.RelayForLifeofFridayHarbor.org.
