OPAL Community Land Trust warmly invites all community members to attend its 2026 Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 23, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM at Emmanuel Episcopal Parish Hall. Light  refreshments will be served.

The annual gathering offers an opportunity to connect with neighbors, hear organizational updates, and celebrate milestones from the past year. OPAL staff and trustees will talk about new initiatives and ongoing efforts to ensure that Orcas Island remains a place where people are able to access housing that they can afford.

This year, we are grateful to have a partner from our Lydia Lane construction team at West Coast Homes, Raymond Faber, on hand to talk about the benefits and efficiencies of modular construction.

Raymond Faber and his brothers own Faber Construction, a commercial contracting company founded by their father in 1987. The local family business has grown to serve communities throughout the Pacific Northwest, with offices in Lynden, Everett, and Boise. Raymond is also the Founder and part owner of West Coast Homes, a modular home manufacturing company established in 2012 in Lynden.

Driven by a deep love for people and a lifelong connection to the construction industry, Raymond is passionate about exploring innovative ways to make housing more attainable.

The event is open to all, including OPAL homeowners, renters, donors, volunteers, and anyone interested in the future of affordable housing on Orcas Island.

In honor of our collaboration with the Orcas Island Food Bank on the Pea Patch Community Campus, we will collect food items at the meeting to gift to our friends at the Food Bank. Please consider bringing a non-perishable food item from your own family traditions (canned foods, spices, condiments, cultural foods) – something special as a gift to our neighbors.

OPAL Community Land Trust is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing permanently affordable housing on Orcas Island. Through stewardship, community partnerships, and innovative housing solutions, OPAL works to ensure long-term housing stability for island residents. www.opalclt.org.
