All summer long the Sculpture Park has collected name ideas for its newest permanent installation, a long-necked dinosaur created by artist Joe Treat.

During the months of June and July the community and visitors were asked to submit name ideas for this prehistoric beauty. A whopping 120 names were recommended through the Park’s website! In August, all were invited to vote on their favorite name choice. Another 120 votes were cast with the winning name, “Roche Ness Monster!”

Roche Ness Monster was created by artist Joe Treat, who builds life-size creatures out of driftwood. Visit Roche Ness Monster, two other Joe Treat creations, and over 150 other unique sculptures in-person at the Sculpture Park or on our website, sjisculpturepark.com. This newest addition is located near the fence along Roche Harbor Road, near the entrance sign.

The 20-acre Park is dog-friendly, features five trails, and offers interactive exhibits for both children and adults. The Park is open every day of the year from dawn until dusk. There is no entry fee, but donations are appreciated.
