Newcomers Patty Miller of Orcas East and Jamie Stephens, representing Lopez and Shaw Islands, were sworn in as County Council members on Tuesday, Jan. 11,  at 10 a.m.

Miller took the seat last held by former County Prosecutor Gene Knapp, who retired, and Stephens won in his bid against longtime Lopez incumbent Bob Myhr.

Council member Rich Peterson of San Juan Island, who won re-election to his position last fall, was also sworn in.

On Monday, Jan. 10:30 a.m., Superior Court Judge Donald Eaton presided over the swearing-in services of several other County Officials. At this service Eaton observed that only in-coming Sheriff Rob Nou was serving a first term and the new Sheriff was also the only official who had  faced a challenge in the General Election last November.:

  • Prosecuting Attorney Randall Gaylord
  • Auditor F. Milene Henley
  • Clerk Joan White
  • Treasurer Jan Sears
  • Sherfiff Rob Nou
