Helping Hands Noramise Second annual report to the community  at Emmanuel Episcopal Parish Hall from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Middle and High School music programs under the direction of Pamela Wright and Martin Lund will perform at Orcas Center at 7 p.m. Middle School Band, Middle School Strings, High School Band, High School Strings, and the combined High School Strings and Band (the Orcas Youth Orchestra — OYO). Select middle schoolers will be joining the OYO.

Home School Book Exchange 10 am-12 at the public library. (This is not affiliated with the public school.) Drop off gently used books (curriculum, reading or other)-IF you are donating to homeschool families; at 9:30 a.m. If you are exchanging you’ll need to stay for the duration of time you are interested in exchanging. All books left behind at noon will be donated to the Friends of the Library.

“The Art of French Pastry and Chocolate: A Scholarship Fund Benefit for Canoe Island French Camp.” Classes through Sunday on private Canoe Island. Dessert chefs from France come for a private instructional weekend to raise money for the scholarship fund of the French language and culture summer camp. The cost is $750 per person, of which $500 is tax deductible, and $650 for non-cooking participants, of which $350 is tax deductible. Canoe Island French Camp is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, hence, part of the tuition is tax-deductible. Classes will be in English or with assistance though translation. Adult participants will be limited to 6 per class, for a total of 18.
