I’m very pleased to invite you to join me in supporting Sharon Shewmake’s campaign for State Senate! Please mark your calendar for Tuesday, August 9th at 4pm in Eastsound!

Sharon is running for Washington State Senate because she believes Whatcom County deserves a Senator who understands the challenges we’re facing and will deliver for us.

Although Sharon is running in the 42nd Legislative District (LD) and we are in the 40th LD, many of us in the 40th are doing our part to support her campaign. We are lucky to have three really excellent representatives here in the 40th LD. My friends and colleagues living in the 42nd have not been so lucky.

Sharon Shewmake would be a sea change of difference for the 42nd LD. She would actually be taking over the seat formerly held by Doug Ericksen, who was a republican and actually died of COVID after working fiercely against Gov. Inslee’s policies to prevent people from getting COVID in our state. So you can see why Sharon needs our support right now.

Be sure to let us know you can make it with a donation online HERE or email campaign@sharon4whatcom.com

I think it’s important to add that Sharon Shewmake is the only economist in the legislature and has a reputation for showing up to meetings with a spreadsheet in Olympia. She is pragmatic, honest, and she works across party lines. Sharon gets things done.

We have a real opportunity to flip this State Senate seat this year with Sharon as our candidate. We need to rally behind her now to win this seat. As a state representative, Sharon first flipped the 42nd District in 2018 and has been the highest vote getter in the 42nd across all legislative candidates in 2018 and 2020. She can do it again – with our help!

I hope you will join me in supporting Sharon on Tuesday, August 9!
