||| FROM MANDY TROXEL for LUM FARM |||

The Lum Farm Tree Sale is about to begin! Noble, Frasier and Douglas Fir trees from 2 ft. to 10 ft. will be available. Tree sale hours are Thursday through Sunday, 11am – 5pm at 1071 Crow Valley Rd. while supplies last. Sales begin Friday, November 25, the day after Thanksgiving. No early birds please – farm chores need to be done before the sale opens each day.

The Lum Farmstand will be open during tree sale hours, so please stop by for island-grown meats, goat’s milk cheese and ice cream for your holiday gatherings, as well as an assortment of farm-inspired gifts. Trees are first come first served, but you may order food items online at www.lumfarmllc.com for pickup at the farm.

While the tree sales are very helpful in covering farming costs over the Winter, Lum Farm has always designated a portion of the proceeds to support island families. In the past, they have made donations to Kaleidoscope Preschool, the Montessori School, Salmonberry, Children’s House, the PTA Gingerbread House contest, and the Orcas Island Community Resource Center and Giving Tree. They look forward to supporting organizations that in turn support island families this season.

On December 3rd from 11am – 5pm, Lum Farm will host its 3rd annual “Wooly Winter Pop Up.” This event features the felted ornaments of Bossy’s Feltworks, holiday cards with artwork by Mandy and Lucy Troxel, ceramic ornaments by our cheesemaker Crystal Mossman, sheepskins and a new batch of yarn. Tangled Orchard Epicure, a new food venture by Shannon O’Donnell, will be on hand with savory pot pies featuring Lum Farm meat and Einkorn pastry. To top off the festivities, our petting zoo will also be open for anyone who needs goat hugs.

Food for your holiday table, gifts for loved ones and a tree for your home; you can get a lot crossed off that list with one visit to Lum Farm! For information, please visit www.lumfarmllc.com or email lumfarmorders@gmail.com.
