Anna Bratney sent Orcas Issues this photo of a February rainbow over Eastsound. On Wednesday morning, when parts of the island were socked in, when higher elevations had snow, when the pace of government seems difficult to keep up with, we consider this rainbow to be a bright sign.

Anna, thank you for capturing/sharing this wonderful, colorful, moment. It’s really important, to be reminded of how wonderfully lucky we are, to share such moments with each other. Made my evening!
I’ll second Carl’s sentiments…
Although being stuck for 2 1/2 hours at the Orcas Landing Wednesday, due to the Chelan being out; although thinking I had left my glasses on the ferry & running back to check (I didn’t leave them); although being 1/2 hour late for a medical appointment in Seattle; although crawling home in crunchy traffic; although having to take a later ferry home & worrying my reservation wouldn’t be honored (it was)….there were so many visual feasts during the whole day: soft snow/hail on the windshield; etching snow on the low pre-Cascade hills and stark white peaks beyond (have you tried taking photos through the front windshield while driving?); a lone Harrier poised on a telephone wire waiting for motion in the field; a total blanketing of Trumpeter Swans in a barren field lit by late sun. Nothing better…..
WOW!
