The Farm to Cafeteria Program features Allium owner Lisa Nakamura as its Celebrity Lunch Chef at the school cafeteria on Thursday, November 18.  The menu is Lisa’s delicious version of freshly made Chicken Teriyaki along with stir-fry veggies, rice and a brownie.  And, of course, a salad from our daily locally fresh produce salad bar.

Lisa Nakamura of Allium

In her life as a prep cook with no experience, studies in Botany, years as a flight attendant, stints in Germany and Korea, and studies at The Herbfarm, Lisa brought her passion for fresh, healthy food to Orcas Island when she purchased Christina’s.  In her words, “Now I have the privilege of carrying on the torch for Christina Orchid, whom I have admired from a distance for so many years.”

We’re excited that Lisa consented to join the talented group of F2C Celebrity Chefs working with our crack cafeteria staff to this year.  December 16 will feature another new Celebrity Chef this year, Madden Surbaugh of the Quilted Pig at Rosario.
