Jan Maddill and Michael Yeaman are the featured artists for the Orcas Center in September

Jan Maddill and Michael Yeaman will be at the closing reception for their show on Sept. 27

Did you miss the opening reception of Jan Madill and Michael Yeaman’s “Light and Shadow” art show? Well you are in luck, for this Sunday, September 27th at 3 p.m. a special event will be held at the Orcas Center to close the show.

This event will feature the artists briefly talking about the inspiration for their work and taking questions from the audience. In addition, short poetry readings by Jill McCabe Johnson from her book “Diary of the One Swelling Sea” and by Elaine Phipps of the poetry of Connee Pike as seen in the show will occur. These presentations will last about 40 minutes.

Michael will also discuss his three new stone, glass and light pieces to celebrate the 2015 International Year of Light. This display is even featured on the United Nations website https://www.light2015.org/Home.html.

Thurston Wolfe wine and light snacks will be served following the presentations with additional opportunities for discussions with the artists.
