The Orcas Island Public Library is choosing the week of July 13-18 to honor our many volunteers. Currently we have over 40 islanders of all ages and walks of life assisting the staff. Our volunteers perform a wide variety of tasks, including gardening, building maintenance, cataloging new items, shelving, bookkeeping, emptying and returning books from the 3 island remote book drops and working with our patrons at the front desk.
We invite the public to stop by and meet and thank this dedicated group of individuals who set aside time from their schedules every week to help the library staff. We couldn’t keep our doors open without them.
