March 27, 2022 Talk + Q&A with Katy Bowman (from Sequim!)
from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. on the Library’s South Lawn, Book signing to follow.
||| FROM CAROL DAPOGNY for ORCAS ISLAND LIBRARY |||
Human bodies require regular and diverse movements, but our societies are becoming more and more “movement-free.” Staying active requires the willpower to exercise daily as well as the ability to modify our environments and habits in a way that gets us moving more naturally.
Katy Bowman—biomechanist and author of Dynamic Aging, Move Your DNA, and Grow Wild—will cover the difference between exercise and movement, describe how to set up a movement-rich life, and share practical and fun tips for effectively dealing with all the everyday issues that can lead to less movement.
To attend this talk please RSVP to cdapogny@orcaslibrary.org.
