Saturday, August 13, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Orcas Public Library
— from Sandy Wilson for the Friends of the Library —
Don’t you love Win/Win? A good example of it is coming to you this Saturday at the Orcas Island Public Library from 10 – 3.
The first win is TO YOU because there is a buffet of books spread out for you to fill your plate/bag. Fiction. History. Cookbooks. Mysteries. Education. Humor. Do It Yourself. Nature and Science. DVDs. Biographies. Classics. Foreign Language –something for all tastes.
The prices for these gently used books are so low you don’t have to try very hard to convince yourself to purchase a few. Some people even return their books to be part of next year’s sale.
The other win is FROM YOU to the Library –the recipient of the proceeds of this Fair. The Library uses the money to constantly add services to the Orcas Community in ever growing ways.
The Orcas Island Public Library will be the venue this Saturday from 10 – 3 where you can participate in a neighborly Win/Win.
**If you are reading theOrcasonian for free, thank your fellow islanders. If you would like to support theOrcasonian CLICK HERE to set your modestly-priced, voluntary subscription. Otherwise, no worries; we’re happy to share with you.**
And yet another win…
Every year the Friends of the Library team up with the Booster Club and our High School Athletes to move the books across town. The kids get a portion of the proceeds to use in their program and the Library Fair volunteers don’t need (as much) Ibuprofin! One more win for our community!
