Orcas Island Friends of the Library

Time to make sure your calendar is cleared for Saturday, August 13 — the Annual Friends of the Library Fair!

The Village Green will be the venue with the books that have been donated for resale for the library’s benefit having a place of honor. There is usually a lineup to get into the Book Sale so if you can be there when the ribbon is cut you will enjoy the fullest selection. As usual, there are novels, children’s books, CDs, DVDs and mysteries. But that’s not all—you’ll find books of poetry, business, nature, science, history, politics, cookbooks…..

A beautiful quilt stitched by Orcas Island Quilters will be raffled. This is a quilt designed by Jackie Robison and measures 81” x 100”. It is currently hanging in the Library for you to see.  The quilters freely donated their time and skill to create this wonderful piece. The tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5.  It is a treasure and someone will be lucky enough to go home with it.

Glenna Richards will again be handling the Art Auction. Come to the library to see this years art on display.  Each has its own page in the bid book.

Orcas’ Farmer’s Market with their tantalizing variety of fresh food, plants, arts and crafts will be part of the Saturday festivities. There’s always something extra and fun that we don’t expect with these Marketers, isn’t there?

This Library Fair event draws booths from the far corners of Orcas as well as from off the island adding their own brand of festivity to the day.

Check that the event is on your calendar.  Come and bring your friends and visitors.

There will be something for everyone and though you certainly don’t need an invitation to become part of the fun, the food, the purchases and of course the BOOKS, if you would like to have one, this is it:

You are invited to attend the  55TH Annual Library Fair in Eastsound on Saturday, August 13!
