You may already know that the school district plans to put a bond proposal on the February ballot. As of now, the bond proposal is currently estimated to cost about $25 million, with the funds raised projected to be used to build a new Career Technical Education (CTE) building, a new middle school, cafeteria and music room. Upgrades to the elementary and old gym and high school as well as to the fields and grounds are also planned.
Your chance to weigh in on what should be accomplished in the upcoming bond project is this Tues. Dec. 15th. The public is welcome and encouraged to come and meet with the architects from Mahlum at a Bond Workshop beginning that day at 2:00 p.m. in the School Cafeteria. The architects will talk about what they have seen to date and what the studies of the facilities show. They will also discuss available options to complete the work needed, and will bring in cost estimates and options to upgrade indoor and outdoor spaces.
Immediately following the bond workshop, the school board will meet (beginning at 5:30 pm), and will likely then determine the scope of the bond that will be requested from the community in February.
The bond workshop is your chance to be heard on this important issue–please come if you can!
