— from Joseph Murphy —
While the old bebopper has passed on, another generation rises in his,
and their, place.
For all who didn’t get a chance to attend the Willie Thomas Memorial
Concert held this last Sunday, September 22, at Orcas Center, be assured
that the music remains in the ultra capable hands of Willie’s son in law,
Oliver Gruenwald, who shepherded the extraordinary array of talent on
stage.
We are extremely fortunate to have this voice continuing to speak on
behalf of the music we love. Adieu, Willie, Hello, Ollie.
It goes on.
