On Saturday, July 6 the Orcas Island Lions Club held its 47th annual Salmon BBQ event. The club would like to thank all who attended in making this event very successful for the club and for the community. As you know, the profits are spent supporting local community needs and scholarships as we are a volunteer organization with no paid administrative staff. Our event followed the similarly successful Volunteer Firefighters/EMT Association’s pancake breakfast earlier in the day at the same location.
We’d also like to call attention to various businesses who provided special support of this event, including: Island Hardware & Supply, San Juans Vision Source, Eastsound Liquors & Spirits, The Lower Tavern, Orcas Island School, Kay’s, Cherie L. Lindholm Real Estate, Pawki’s, Country Corner, Orcas Village Store, Troller Point Fisheries, Island Market, the Fire Department, and the Chamber of Commerce.
