||| FROM DIDIER GINCIG |||

On closing night of the season, my wife, Kathryn, and I enjoyed a delicious meal at the Inn at Ship Bay. We know the place is for sale, so we’d like to take this opportunity to offer our deepest gratitude to Mary Anna and Geddes, as well as their superb, talented, and friendly kitchen and dining room staff, for so many wonderful memories over the years.

My mother, Monique, my father, Bill, along with Kathryn’s father, Bill, and her mother, Helen, would join us to celebrate monumental events there. Kathryn and I celebrated countless anniversaries dining at Ship Bay–graduation celebrations for our children, birthdays, and special visits from friends–this place will forever have a special place in our hearts.

For years, Geddes and Mary Anna would generously donate turkeys for our Community Thanksgiving meals that my parents and the Odd Fellows would put together.

We have memories in the olden days of being in the kitchen and having the pleasure to be sous chefs for Geddes for OPAL fundraisers.

Mary Anna and Geddes, we wish you a pleasant retirement (if that is what you will be doing). You earned it! Night after night, season after season, year after year, you worked earnestly to provide fantastic experiences for locals and guests to the island.

Congratulations on a job well done and thank you!
