||| FROM DARRELL KIRK |||

My name is Darrell Kirk and my family and I have lived on Orcas Island for a little over a year.  In that short time, I have worked with Justin Paulsen while serving on a local Board that serves the recovery community on Orcas, and feel I am qualified to speak on Mr. Paulsen’s dedication to the citizens of Orcas Island. Justin Paulsen has my undivided support in this November’s election for seat #2 on the San Juan County Council.

Justin Paulsen’s dedication to public service both through his company, in his home and family, and recovery community Board service, I was able to find common ground with Justin and quickly find my way on the island during a very stressful time moving from Seattle to our new home on Orcas.  Public service and philanthropy is at the heart of Justin Paulsen whether he is serving as Orcas Parks and Recreation Commissioner, as the owner of a thriving construction company on the island, or in service and dedication to those in the recovery community.

I spent a week at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago back in August and saw numerous examples of unity, hope, and inspiration with the Candidates, Delegates, and others inside and outside of the convention hall. I am comforted that such a climate exists here on Orcas Island between Justin Paulsen and other candidates. In addition to Justin’s public service, his wife, family, and household serve as a foundation of community, public service, and philanthropy.  I am honored to know Justin Paulsen and to have his love, support, and care for myself and my family.
