Jennifer Swanson is clearly the superior candidate in the San Juan County Council election.
Her experience is directly relevant to the goals of the SJC Council. The school district budgets she developed and managed as superintendent and oversaw as a school board member are similar to the county budget in complexity and in their mix of local, state and federal funds.
That work also included discussion with the other school districts and a greater understanding of their budgets, issues and concerns. And let’s be honest, while Jennifer lists the county budget as one of her four priorities, the budget is going to be an important issue going forward.
Jennifer will be a calm, reasoned, experienced addition to the council. Those traits are going to be essential in the current budget crisis. The county’s budget woes aren’t going to be going away during 2027. They are going to continue and probably worsen at least through 2028. She won’t propose expanded county services that can’t be funded. She’ll tell us the truth, solicit our input and make the difficult decisions.
Jennifer Swanson is the candidate San Juan County needs right now. Vote for Jennifer Swanson!
