I have had the pleasure of working with Justin Paulsen on the SJC Ferry Advisory Committee over a year now; myself as a member of the public and Justin as Committee Member and then Chair. Throughout this time, I have been very pleased with his ability to provide positive leadership. He engages with ideas that contrast with his own and encourages others to share their thinking.
He’s also able to change his mind when he understands more about a particular issue and re-evaluates. As someone who has taught technical team management at the UW, I am especially sensitive to leadership style and substance and Justin succeeds quite well in a natural and easy-going manner.
Further, this type of leadership, combined with his professional and volunteer background, allow him to connect well with all sorts of people in the community, bringing together concerns and ideas, looking for solutions that provide the greatest benefit to the greatest number, while never shutting anyone out.
This is why I gladly support Justin for County Council.
