Saturday, April 8, 9 a.m., Moran State Park
— from Jacqueline Daigle —
It’s that time of year again when rakes and shovels come out of hibernation and get put to good use to clean up the oodles of debris that old man winter dumped on Orcas. Moran State Park was not spared and really needs your help!
Please lend a hand on Saturday, Apr. 8 as we clear trails, campsites, and the day use area.
Tools will be supplied or bring your own if you wish.
A yummy hot lunch will be provided to all volunteers by super friends of Friends of Moran:
Ken and Karen Speck of Cherie L. Lindholm RE and Pat Muffett of Eastsound Mini Storage.
Meet up at the day use area at 9 a.m. (we’ll have a fire burning to take off the chill) and get your parking pass if you do not already have one from Ranger Patty.
Volunteers are also needed for the Summit Gift Shop – Friends of Moran’s #1 fund raising endeavor. The shop is open daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 1 through September. This is a great opportunity to meet visitors from all over the world and share your knowledge and pride of the park and Orcas. Please consider volunteering one or two days per month or more if you wish. For more information, please contact Sandi Talt at: giftshopliaison@friendsofmoran.org.
