Application deadline Nov. 14

“The future of the islands will be decided in the islands.”

Leadership San Juan Islands (LSJI) is a six-month program that brings together professional leaders in various sectors to help an interactive group of islanders:

• Develop professional leadership skills and potential
• Learn more about issues facing the San Juan Islands within our “systems” of culture, governance, education, economics, environment, & community health, and
• Determine how you can best help!

This year, Liz Illg of Nonprofits Unlimited and Jim Hooper of the Economic Development Council are co-coordinators of the LSJI program, now it its eighth year.

The deadline for applications in early-November.

Applicants will be informed of acceptance late November and a short preview meeting is being planned prior to the Retreat in late January. Three Challenge Days, with three Retreats, and hopefully another nautical adventure will bring the program to Graduation at the end of May, 2012. Tuition for the course is $625; scholarships and community sponsorships are available.
