The Leaping Fool Winter Writers Series December reading will take place at Orcas Island Winery Thurs., 12/14 from 6–8pm.

“T H E  L E A P I N G  F O O L”  winter writers series continues! The November event at Orcas Island Winery opened to a packed house and offered ten writers reading about fiery friends, birds, lovers, and more. Submissions are now open for the December reading taking place Thursday, 12/14th, 6–8pm. December’s theme will be “The Moon and I.” Submissions are requested by Thursday, December 7th at the email address below.

How do you feel the moon in the rhythms, expansions, contractions, ebbs, flows of life? How has the moon illuminated the metaphorical darkness? How has it brought healing, beauty, and mystery?

THE LEAPING FOOL is a community-based collaboration between The Intermodal Spirit and SOURCE Paper. Local writers, poets, and storytellers are called to submit pieces from the heart that are shared aloud at an evening gathering inside the barn at Orcas Island Winery.

Submissions are open to all forms of writing and oral storytelling.

  • Deadline for submissions: Thursday, December 7th
  • Reading venue: The Orcas Island Winery
  • Reading date and time: Thursday, December 14th, 6–8pm, Doors open at 5:00pm

Consideration for submissions:

  • Please keep length to 6–10 minutes
  • Please name the document with your FIRST + LAST name, and the TITLE of your piece.
  • Word or Pages documents are requested.
