We are very pleased to announce our upcoming Open Houses and the opening of our Application window for Leadership San Juan Islands, LSJI 2018.

NEW PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Vivette Bordas is our 2018 Program Director. Vivette is a graduate of LSJI 2017 and moved to San Juan Island in 2014. Now retired, her career was as a medical telemetry technician and instructor and as a certified nursing assistant. Vivette is from Nicaragua, Central America, and came to the US in 1987 to look for a better life and education for her son.

OPEN HOUSES
One of the best ways to learn about LSJI is to talk with past graduates of the program, and interested persons can do that by attending one of three Open Houses in mid-October. Our Open House schedule is as below and on our public Facebook web page, Leadership San Juan Islands.

  • San Juan Island: Tues, Oct. 10, 5 to 7 pm, 285 Geneste St., Friday Harbor
  • Orcas Island: Wed, Oct. 11, 5 to 7 pm, Orcas Food Co-op, 138 North Beach Rd, Eastsound
  • Lopez Island: Thurs, Oct. 12, 5 to 7 pm, Grace Episcopal Church, 70 Sunset Ln, Lopez

APPLICATION WINDOW
Applications are now being accepted and the application form is available on our website, www.lsji.org. Applications should be completed electronically or printed out and completed by pen, scanned, or mailed to Vivette at vivettebordas@yahoo.com. Deadline for submissions is Monday, November 6, 2017, 5:00 pm. Applicants will be notified regarding acceptance by December 1, 2017.
