Sunday, Nov. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Random Howse
Heather Keizur (vocalist) and Steve Christofferson (piano/melodica/vocals) from Portland, Oregon to debut at Random Howse for one show on Sunday, Nov. 8th at 6:30 pm.
Heather Keizur who sings in both French and English stands out from the crowd in a refreshing and enchanting way. “I grew up in Canada where I fell in love with the French language. It’s so musical, it’s beautiful to simply hear it spoken. Add that to the poignant melodies and lyrics written by greats like Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel, …I am compelled to sing these passionate songs.”
Keizur recently released a new recording, “Under My Skin”, a sultry, expressive and romantic collection of classic ballads, jazz standards and authentic French chansons. The Random Howse show will feature those styles and more, in a combination of English and French.
Christofferson’s piano, melodica, and vocals add a powerful depth to the duo’s presentation. According to Oregon Music News, “Steve is a master of the fine art of accompanying singers.”
Keizur and Christofferson are of one heart, one mind when it comes to making music. “The secret,” Joe Williams once told Steve, “is to sing like there’s no tomorrow.” Hearing them, you’ll feel that Keizur and Christofferson have been doing so all their lives.
