It’s reassuring when the parents within our local community are able to work to make ends meet, and it’s about to become a more likely reality for many.

Kaleidoscope’s building expansion is right on track financially, and close to the finish line constructively. They have successfully stuck to their budget, and can see the home stretch right in front of them! The community has done an amazing job helping to get to this point (especially Terra Firma NW!), and all they need is one more big push to open two new classrooms and public office space for Orcas Family Connections, the Family Resource Center for Orcas Island.

Located within walking distance of Eastsound, Kaleidoscope has been a necessity to our local families and businesses for over 20 years. They provide safe, affordable, high-quality and consistent preschool and child care services for families with children 2 ½ to 12. Once the expansion is complete, we will be able to rely on them for quality care for children as young as four weeks!

Kaleidoscope is open year round, every weekday from 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., meaning families with children of all ages can have working parents who have the comfort of knowing their children are in a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment.

Orcas’ families, and businesses, and Kaleidoscope need your help to finish this essential child care expansion. Classroom items such as cribs, high chairs, a rocking chair, rugs, shelving, cubbies, art supplies, activity stations, storage tubs, BOOKS, TOYS, etc. can all be sponsored by you, to be used by hundreds of children!

Kaleidoscope is also looking for items that can be donated directly, such as fire extinguishers, first aid kits, signage, a small refrigerator, baby blankets/clothes, compact music player, and other kid-friendly items.

You may contact Kaleidoscope via website (OurKaleidoscopeKids.org), email (kaleidoscope@centurytel.net), phone (376-2484), or regular mail (PO BOX 1476).
