||| FROM CAROL DAPOGNY for ORCAS ISLAND LIBRARY |||
Join Orcas Island resident Susan Slapin, artist, painter, and poet, for a poetry reading from her new book. Susan’s work has been exhibited from Orcas to Ojai and she has been recognized by The Oregonian for Printmaking and by the Lake Oswego Festival of The Arts for Etching and Monoprint.
PAINTED BIRD: painted skies and pastel poems is an art collector and poetry lover’s book of 44 pages with many pastel paintings and poems. Some are short poems and some long, yet each contains inquiry, curiosity, and contemplation. Nature holds a place through dreamscapes, metaphoric, and stream of consciousness writing. A paragraph on the medium of pastels along with “something about poems” is included in this 11″x11” hard cover full color coffee table book.
