||| FROM DAVID AND GERI TURNOY |||
This Saturday, October 17, is the next national No King’s Day. Both San Juan and Lopez Islands already have events scheduled, and we don’t want to be left out here on Orcas. Therefore, please join us this Saturday at the Village Green at NOON. Bring signs to protest the current administration and to encourage voting. We will march around Eastsound at least once, maybe twice. We will end at the Village Green, and we will see what develops from there.
We will have voter registration materials available for anyone not already registered. There are some very harmful initiatives on the ballot, so it is important for everyone to vote.
You can register to vote at www.myvote.wa.gov. If you aren’t sure if you are registered to vote in San Juan County and/or Washington (e.g., if you have moved or your address is different), you can call 360-378-3357 Monday through Thursday or you can email elections@sanjuancountywa.gov.
The deadline to register to vote online is October 26. The best way to make sure your vote is counted is to put your ballot in the dropbox at the Senior Center starting October 18; please vote early.
Hope to see you Saturday.
