ANACORTES, WA—Island Primary Care – M Avenue is excited to announce a new provider Jason Blair, MD. A family medicine with obstetrics physician, Blair was most recently a providing care at Clinica Medicos OB/Gyn in Memphis, Tennessee, where he provided bilingual, adult, pediatric, obstetric and same-day care to families. He earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Chapel Hill, North Carolina and is board certified in family medicine.
Blair completed his fellowship with Medicos Para La Familia Surgical Family Medicine Obstetrics in Memphis, Tennessee. During his residency with Sutter Rosa Family Medicine in Santa Rosa, California, he was both chief resident and a member of the high-risk obstetric review team.
Blair’s experience as a Spanish interpreter at Our Lady of Guadalupe Medical Clinic in Charlotte, North Carolina, along with his outreach work with migrant farmworkers through the Migrant Farmworker Health Program at Wake County Human Services sparked his clinical interest in Spanish-speaking populations. In addition, he is keen to explore the full scope of family medicine by partnering with patients for positive change in their health so that they can flourish in other areas of their lives.
“I love family medicine because of the opportunity to play a role in the health of an entire family through each individual,” Blair said. “My goal is to bring hope and healing to patients so that they can do the same for their families and community.”
Chief Medical Officer Jason Hogge, MD, said Blair brings unique and important skills to the clinic.
“His experience is bi-coastal, rural and urban, and with diverse populations. We are excited to round out our team with a provider who illustrates what Island Health is all about—hope, healing and courageous care,” Hogge said.
New to the Pacific Northwest, Blair and his wife Sarah, along with their four young children, look forward to exploring Anacortes, particularly the outdoors and ocean. He enjoys swimming, reading a good mix of history and philosophy, and eclectic food and music.
