An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a hit and run on the 400 block of North Beach Rd. an unknown make or model truck backed into a parked scooter causing minor damage and left the area. A report was taken for insurance purposes.

A San Juan Deputy took a report of possible gas siphoning. Potential video surveillance footage of the incident is being sought. The investigation is ongoing.

A Deputy on Orcas was dispatched to a welfare check on Crow Valley Road. There was a vehicle parked in a lane of travel with their hazard lights on. After arriving on scene the Deputy called for aid. The single occupant was flown off island to rule out head trauma. A report was taken.

A Lopez Deputy was contacted regarding a disruptive person with behavioral health challenges. Civil court options were suggested.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to Moran State Park for an assault call. An unidentified suspect assaulted an employee near Mountain Lake. The suspect fled the area prior to law enforcement arrival. The investigation is on-going.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of possible trespassing. Individuals returned home to find that their dog had been let of its crate and their door was locked upon returning home. Besides the dog, nothing was missing or out of place in the house. A report was completed.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a trespassing call. A drunk individual wandered onto his neighbor’s property and began screaming in the middle of the night. The Deputy was unable to locate the drunk individual, but they were arrested the following morning.

A Lopez man was arrested and booked into jail for malicious mischief after destroying his neighbors shed with a chainsaw. This incident started over a property line / easement use disagreement.

A Lopez resident provided a photo of a juvenile male she caught entering her car. Charges will forwarded to the court pending identification.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to two dogs causing a public nuisance near Eastsound. The dogs were located and the owner was given a warning letter and explained the penalties and possible charges if the behavior were to continue.

Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a report of an individual smoking suspected drugs in a restaurant bathroom in Friday Harbor. The Deputies located the individual, they were taken into custody on an out of county felony warrant. Suspected fentanyl was located and sent for analysis.
