“Feed Yourself – Feed Our Community”

On Friday, February 24 from 4 to 6 p.m., the Wildflour Bakery will be filled with an array of bowls made by Orcas potters and other crafts people waiting to be filled with home made vegetable barley soup.  Those who arrive between 4 and 6 simply choose one of the bowls, make a donation of any size to the Orcas Island Food Bank, fill their chosen bowl with the delicious soup then join the party!   Wildflour will also have fresh, mouthwatering baked treats available for purchase.  Afterwards, guests may keep the bowl they chose and take it home.

The “Open Bowl Project” at Wildflour Bakery (corner of North Beach & Main Street) is patterned after an international grass roots effort to fight hunger (www.emptybowls.net) formed on the basic premise that the bowls are “a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world.”
