San Juan County, like most of the state’s Counties, routes its Internet and electronic data connections through the state’s Intergovernmental Network (IGN). During the past two days, the state’s system has suffered three separate outages, one due to a failure of a temporary repair. The failures affected the ability of County offices ability to receive and transmit emails, downed the County web site and affected data communications with state agencies.
Though the IGN historically has an excellent reputation for reliability, because the County’s data communications with the mainland, as well as with local residents, includes law enforcement and other essential information, the County IT/IS department is investigating means of providing backup Internet and data connections with the mainland in case of future disruptions.

If that is bad try getting some response every day from Century Link. They have over loaded the line to Rosario Highlands and instead of getting a promised band width for which you pay the amount of band width is reduced from 10 to 1.0 or less.
