||| FROM CHRIS CHORD for ORCAS ISLAND HEALTH CARE DISTRICT |||
The Orcas Island Health Care District is participating in the 2022 GiveOrcas Campaign organized by the Orcas Island Community Foundation.
For our funding request this season, we are looking for support of our new pediatric physician, Dr. Evan Buxbaum, as he begins full-time at Island Primary Care – Orcas. This funding request will help to cover the purchase of clinic equipment that will improve our pediatric visits. Some of the equipment being requested include a bilirubinometer for checking for jaundice, a bladder scanner, and other supplies for pediatric visits. For more information, visit our donation page here. Your donations will help to cover a portion of the purchase of this equipment, while the remaining expenses will be covered by OIHCD.
This giving campaign runs from December 1st until December 15th, and has several special giving days scattered throughout the campaign. One of those special giving days is today, Ben Franklin Day, which rewards an additional $1,000 to the request that receives the most $100 donations during that day. For full details on the 2022 GiveOrcas Campaign, please see the attached flyer, or go to the GiveOrcas Campaign donation page here

We are so fortunate to have Dr. Buxbaum back on the island. His service fulfills a critical need for those in need of pediatric care, and it save invaluable time and money by not having to go off island for this care. Please support them if you can. They are currently 60% funded. Let’s help them get across the finish line at https://oicf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/grant?grant_id=24672
There are also 22 other wishes that you can pick from to help improve the quality of life on Orcas Island. Give today at giveorcas.org, if you can. $10 or more can make all the difference.
