||| FROM JULIA TURNEY and JAY LUCAS for ORCAS MASTER GARDENERS |||

Do you have a question about your soil, have a problem with your fruit tree, or are thinking about starting a garden?  Is something bugging your plants, or you are curious about identifying a plant or insect?  Master Gardeners will be staffing Ask A Master Gardener events on Orcas to help answer your questions and collect plant problem samples.

Orcas Master Gardeners will be at the Market Garden Nursery on Wednesday June 11, 2025.

If you have a plant with a problem or want a plant or insect identified, follow these steps:

  • Put your problem plant in a sealed plastic bag, or your insect in a container. Keep it cool.
  • Fill out and attach a plant problem or plant/insect identification form. These forms can be found at the Ask A Master Gardener event or on our website. Please note, samples cannot be analyzed without a form.
  • Bring your sample to the next Ask A Master Gardener event.

The Master Gardener program is a program of Washington State University Extension. Master Gardeners are university-trained volunteers who empower and sustain diverse communities with relevant, unbiased, research-based horticulture and environmental stewardship education.
